Back in time to Parker's Baseball

Parker played Coach Pitch Baseball. He had a good time and it was a blast to watch him and those little boys play ball and get so excited. When he first started he didn't hit or catch well but he really improved over the season and gained alot of confidence. The thing about Parker is he loves to play and have fun but he doesn't have a competitive bone in his body. He's there to have fun. But he also does not like to loose and knowing that helps him to hit, catch and throw better. He's awesome.

Ren and Paris, As you can see Ren's loving his picture taken.

Over the July 24th Holiday, we went camping with Brett and Cindy Hancock up off the Diamond Mtn.  There were very few camping areas that were available so we found this spot and it actually worked out well. Mark and Colette came up for dinner on Friday. Then on Saturday Alan and Lesha joined us on a ATV ride to Spirit Lake. We went 67 miles that day over some easy and some not quite so easy terrain. Lesha and I thought we might not make a few of the places but Ren helped us over. Alan just would laugh. We all had a blast. There were beautiful views and alot of dust. But we had fun. Every night Brett, Cindy Ren and I played games and had a great time. Good friends, Good times.

Back in Time to Epic Relay

Jessie Handing off to me for my 2nd leg.

Running for Grace, ID to Soda Springs, ID 5.98 miles.

Handing off to Danni in Soda Springs.

Danni's 2nd leg

Our Vehicle's Team: Jessie, me, Danni, Jake, Carly, and our support vehicle driver/life saver Aaron.  Jeannie from our team left early....way early.

The full team:Aaron, Jake, TJ, Joseph, Jed, Paris, Stephanie, Carly, Danni, Katie, Roseanna, Jessie, and MIA/Jeannie.

This was one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things I have ever done. The race started in Logan, UT and ended in Teton Village, WY/Jackson Hole. My first leg was in Smithfield and I ran 6.98 miles at a 4% downgrade until the last 1/2 mile, then it was up hill. I did it in 1 hr. 5 min. a great time but my knees took a beating. I should have held back a bit on the downhill. My second leg I could hardly move at first but once I was started it was okay but I did have to walk every once in a while. 5.98 miles. There literally was no time to rest until we reached our night exchange where we threw out our sleeping bags at 2 a.m. in 32 degrees and slept for 2 1/2 hours when I heard numbers being called for runners coming in. My third leg was running through Star Valley, WY, unbelievably beautiful, Osprey flying, a picturesque place. Part of our team along the Snake River, you could hear the people in rafts running the river.
Our Vehicle did fantastic and we overcame some huge team obstacles, but we pulled together and certain members honestly gave all they had and made it so the whole team stayed in the race. The other vehicle did the same, with one going down with a stomach bug and others having to take up the slack. This is a huge team effort and no one person could do it with out the others. Our team was great. On the last leg everyone was saying they wouldn't do this again but when we finished we were then saying....yeah I think I would do this again. It was great....The Team D.A.S.H. finished in 37 1/2 hrs.

Back in Time

I am going to now go back in the year and add posts that I would have included had I been blogging all year long. Since I will publish this Blog as a book I really want all the important things that happened in this Blog.

New Years Eve

Ren and I decided that we needed to get away for a day so we went to Grand Junction for New Years Eve. No special plans just left and headed to Junction. We got there late on the Friday night and found a room on the new car's GPS unit, made a reservation and stayed until Sunday Morning. We shopped on Saturday. There is a Cabelas hooked to the mall, what more could a girl ask for a place for her husband to shop while she shopped. We then ate and went and got us some treats to eat in the room where we rented a movie, "Puss and Boots" and watched Harry Potter and then of course the New Year's coutndown.
I think for the New Year my resolve would be the continue with the health program I had started earlier and to continue with the needed weight loss, focus a bit more on family...not allow work to get in the way so much, real estate can become consuming, and trying to maintain a contstant attitude of gratitude. I have been so richly blessed with such wonderful Family, Husband, Friends and Knowledge of the Best things. I feel I do Good most of the time, Better sometimes but I really need to be my Best as often as possible.
No pressure...just humility and prayer.

Christmas Day

Tesher enjoying one of our favorite Christmas tradtions, pastas of different kinds.

It started out with just being Manicotti Pasta, but now that there are more of us...

It's whatever pastas we decide we want with of course the old standby...

Manicotti...I do make a mean Manicotti.

Christmas Day began with attending church, it just seems that that would be the way it should be. We had a wonderful Sacrament Meeting, the choir sang 2 numbers, Ren spoke and gave some wonderful remarks and the rest of the meeting was all music. It was all very appropriate and very spiritual, it could not have been more perfect for the day.
After Church we went straight to the Care Center to visit with Mom, give her her gifts and just take some time for her. I felt so bad we couldn't take her out of there for some time. But it is really not an option any more, no way to transport her. Danni and Jake went with us and I think she really liked seeing the kids.
Danni spent most of the day with us, Jake's family was out of town. We worked in the kitchen making breakfast and she made her breadsticks for our dinner while the kids and grandparents took a quick nap. We then went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Anderton. We had a very nice visit, Dan and Linda were there, we had taken Parker, Aurie and Lucas, while Danni tried to get Caleb to sleep.
Eventually everyone was at the house and ready to open our presents and have dinner, it was a blast opening presents and telling everyone that the main present was their trip to Disneyland in March. They were all so excited. Ren filmed it on DVD and I don't know how to put it on the blog yet. That will have to be one of my New Year's goal, learn some new technology.
We then ate our traditional pasta/Manicotti meal and played games for the rest of the evening.
I am ever so thankful for family, it is so nice to watch the kids play with one another, both grandchildren and our children as they played games. We are very blessed to have the children and grandchildren we have.
I also am so thankful to have the knowledge I have of the Savior, of his birth, life, example, atonement, death and ressurection. And the gift of Eternal Life he and our Father in Heaven gave me and all of us. I really want to be the kind of person that it talks of in the Book of Mormon, of those that sought only to do good.
